U.S. News and World Report Ranks Iowa's Public Universities

The U.S. News and World Report 2016 Best Colleges guidebook, containing rankings for universities and colleges across the nation was released online this week. Highlights for Iowa’s public universities include:
- The University of Iowa ranked #33 and Iowa State ranked #51 among the nation’s 629 public universities.
- The University of Iowa’s writing program in fiction and poetry and ISU’s agriculture and biosystems engineering program were ranked #1 in the nation. Iowa’s graduate program in speech-language pathology also ranked #1 in the nation
- The University of Northern Iowa ranked #2 in the “Best Regional Universities (Midwest)” category
- The University of Iowa boasted 10 graduate programs with top-10 national rankings
