Regents Present Awards for Excellence to ISD Faculty and Staff

The Board of Regents, State of Iowa presented its Regents Awards for Faculty and Staff Excellence to two Iowa School for the Deaf faculty and staff members at the April Board meeting. ISD Superintendent Steve Gettel joined Regents President Bruce Rastetter to present the awards.

One faculty and one staff member, listed below, were honored.

Lee Ann Bradley has been an educator with ISD since 2005. She is the District Coach for Alternative Assessments and serves as the lead for transition services for students with special needs. She started the school’s Parent-Teacher Staff Student Association, brought the Job Olympics to ISD and has coordinated them for the last eight years, and is part of the statewide Expanded Core Curriculum Team for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. She regularly takes on extra responsibilities during the school year and makes a tremendous difference in the lives of ISD students.

 

Denise Ryan has served in the ISD Business Office of Iowa School for 19 years. Described by her coworkers as a dedicated problem solver, Ryan has taken on new tasks over the last 18 months while the office transitioned to new leadership. Ryan also supported efforts to consolidate ISD business procedures with those of the Iowa Blind and Sight Saving School by taking on responsibilities for both agencies. Regents Awards for Faculty and Staff Excellence recognize staff contributions and service to the university, community, and broader society
