Iowa State Will Lead New, National Institute to Fight Antimicrobial Resistance

Each year in the U.S., 23,000 people die after becoming infected with bacteria resistant to antibiotics. Many more die from other conditions complicated by an antibiotic-resistant infection, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Iowa State University will lead a national institute addressing this global public health concern.
