Reaction from Board President Bruce Rastetter to Governor Branstad’s Support of Performance Based Funding

"I want to thank Governor Branstad today for his strong support of Performance Based Funding," said Board of Regents President Bruce Rastetter. "Governor Branstad understands that the decades old funding model for the state’s public universities is antiquated and does not reflect the unique missions and enrollment realities at each university. The Board’s Performance Based Funding model will provide more transparency and equity across the three public universities while also being more accountable to the taxpayers of Iowa."

"We look forward to continuing to work with the General Assembly and the Governor to realize the Board’s legislative priorities including a modest 1.75% inflationary increase, full implementation of the Performance Based Funding model, and holding the University of Iowa harmless," added President Rastetter.
