The Iowa State University Presidential Search and Screen Committee will hold its first meeting on Monday, June 5 from 2-4 p.m. in the Uelner Executive Board Room in the Alumni Center on the campus of Iowa State University.

The 21-person committee is responsible for selecting finalists for Board of Regents’ consideration to become the next president at Iowa State. The committee, co-chaired by ISU College of Design Dean Luis Rico-Gutierrez and Dan Houston, President and Chairman of Principal Financial Group, will work in conjunction with AGB Search.

“Our responsibility is to find exceptional candidates to become Iowa State’s next president,” Rico-Gutierrez said. “Our committee has diverse representation from students, faculty, staff, alumni and other key constituencies of the ISU community, and we are highly motivated to work together on this critical task.”

“Iowa State University is a world-class institution, and the selection of its next leader must be done thoroughly, as well as transparently,” said Houston. “I look forward to working with this outstanding group of committee members and AGB Search to find Iowa State’s next leader.”

At this initial meeting, the committee will receive its formal charge, discuss the scheduling of public listening sessions about qualities needed by the next president, and talk about next steps. The full agenda for the initial meeting of the committee will be posted on the Board of Regents website in advance of the meeting.
